Technology Cable Technician

Globalcom Technologies, a division of Westphal & Company, is working with the union to hire Technology Cable Technicians at all experience levels across our three office locations. These roles support commercial, industrial, medical, educational, and residential projects throughout Wisconsin, Iowa, and the surrounding region.

What You’ll Do 

  • Install, maintain, and repair network cabling systems on active job sites 
  • Pull, route, and label CAT6, CAT6A, fiber optic, and coaxial cable 
  • Install support structures including equipment racks, j-hooks, and innerduct 
  • Test and troubleshoot network communication issues 
  • Inspect cable infrastructure to ensure quality and performance 
  • Collaborate with field crews and other trades including electricians, plumbers, and drywallers 
  • Follow safety standards, procedures, and best practices at all times 
  • Support training and development through hands-on experience

Qualifications & Experience 

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • 1+ years of professional technician experience preferred 
  • Ability to multitask and manage interruptions effectively 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment 
  • Familiarity with industry tools and equipment 
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history 

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds 
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders and mechanical lifts 
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for extended periods 
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments 
  • Availability for shift work or weekends as project needs require
